Experiences

More than places. Moments that stay.

Experiences you can add to any trip or book on their own: cooking in a home kitchen, a dawn gondola, a balloon over Cappadocia, a night kayak through glowing water. Each one states its duration, season and inclusions.

Booking an experience

Three ways an experience gets confirmed.

Small operators, big skies and wild animals do not all confirm the same way. Each experience tells you which kind it is before you pay, and your trip hub shows its true status.

  1. Instant

    Confirmed on booking

Fixed-time experiences with live availability, such as a Kathakali seat or a market walk, issue a voucher straight away.

    Status: voucher issued

  2. On request

    Waiting on the host

Home kitchens and private guides accept each booking personally. Until they do, it shows as awaiting the operator, never as confirmed.

    Status: awaiting operator → confirmed

  3. Weather call

    Confirmed, then checked

Balloon flights, whale watches and aurora chases are booked, then confirmed again by the operator on the day, with the rebook or refund rule stated up front.

Status: booked → go / no-go on the day

Choosing well

What makes the list, and what never will.

  • Named hosts and guides

You see who you are spending the day with, and the language they guide in, before you book.

  • Wildlife at its own distance

No elephant rides, no handling of wild animals, and boats and vehicles that keep respectful distances.

  • Access and ages, stated

Walking, steps, minimum ages and swimming ability are written on each experience, not discovered on arrival.

  • Licensed where it matters

Balloon, boat and adventure operators are booked only with the licences their activity requires locally.

FAQ

Before you book the moment.

Can I book an experience without booking a whole holiday?

Yes. Any experience can be booked on its own or added to a trip you have already planned with us. If it sits inside a trip, the timing is checked against your flights, trains and hotel check-ins so it does not clash.

What happens if a balloon flight, whale watch or safari is called off for weather?

Weather-dependent experiences show the operator’s rule before you pay: usually a move to the next available slot, or a refund if no slot works. Where we can, we plan a spare morning or evening so a cancelled first attempt still leaves a second chance.

Are wildlife sightings guaranteed on safaris and whale watches?

No. Animals move on their own terms. We choose seasons and zones where sightings are most likely and work with guides who know the terrain, but no honest operator can promise a tiger, a blue whale or a snow leopard.

Does the listed duration include getting to the experience?

The duration describes the experience itself. Pickups and transfers are noted separately where they add meaningful time. A Cappadocia balloon flight, for example, is about an hour in the air but three to four hours from pre-dawn pickup to drop-off.

Can an experience be made private or adapted for children and older travellers?

Many can. Cooking classes, gondola mornings, food walks and game drives can usually be booked privately, and pace or route adjusted. Minimum ages and access details are shown on each experience, and our accessible travel team can check specifics with the operator.
