Intercity fare logic

Six lines make up the fare. You see all six.

An outstation cab price is not one mysterious number. It is a handful of parts, each with its own rule, and every one is shown before you book.

  1. Per-kilometre rate

The base of every intercity fare, set by vehicle class. Round trips usually bill a minimum distance per day, commonly around 250 km, even if you drive less.

  2. Driver allowance

A daily amount that covers the driver’s meals and stay on outstation trips. Multi-day journeys include one for each day.

  3. Tolls, parking and permits

Highway tolls and parking are paid as you go or billed at actuals. Crossing a state border can add a state entry tax or permit fee.

  4. Night charges

A fixed charge when the driver works late at night, commonly between about 22:00 and 06:00.

  5. Waiting and extra time

Waiting beyond the included allowance, and extra kilometres or hours, are charged at the rates shown on your booking.

  6. GST

Goods and Services Tax on the cab fare, shown as its own line in the total.

Cab FAQ

Cab fares, line by line.

How is an outstation cab fare calculated in India?

Most intercity fares combine a per-kilometre rate for the vehicle class, a daily driver allowance, tolls, parking and any state entry tax, a night charge if the driver works late, and GST. Round trips usually bill a minimum distance per day. Every one of these lines is shown before you book.

What is a driver allowance, and when is it charged?

Sometimes called driver bata, it is a daily amount that covers the driver’s food and overnight stay when a trip takes them away from their base. It applies to outstation journeys, once for each day of the trip, and is not charged on short city rides.

Are tolls and parking included in the cab price?

Tolls are shown as an estimate before you book and then charged at actuals, so you pay what the route really costs. Parking at airports, monuments and hotels is billed at actuals, with receipts.

Can I hire a cab by the hour within a city?

Yes. Choose “By the hour” for a car and driver at your disposal on a package of hours and kilometres. Extra time and distance beyond the package are priced on the booking, so a long lunch never turns into a surprise.

What happens if my cab does not arrive?

Contact trip support from your booking. We work with the operator to send a replacement where one is available, and if the ride cannot be provided you are refunded under the booking’s terms. Every case reaches a person, with clear escalation.
